Evaluation

LOCKDOWN Protocol graduated from Early Access to its full 1.0 release on November 18, 2025. At that time, the developer published a detailed statement describing the game as "mostly in a finished state" and outlining what players can expect going forward. They guaranteed continued bug fixes, more session settings, and more cosmetics. They explicitly ruled out new maps and integrated mod support. Their main development focus has shifted to a new unannounced project. Despite that winding-down framing, the game has continued to receive meaningful updates at a consistent pace since launch. Update 1.1.0 (November 28, 2025) added a shotgun weapon and new cosmetics. Update 1.2.0 (December 12, 2025) added an SMG, custom session presets, and new suit materials. Update 1.3.0 (December 16, 2025) brought a Christmas seasonal event with new items. Update 1.4.0 (March 30, 2026) delivered weapons rebalancing and a microphone fix. Update 1.5.0 (May 31, 2026) added new character customizations and a Retro skin. Update 1.6.0 (June 25, 2026) — the most recent — introduced a permanent Summer map theme, new popsicle items, and water gun skins for all weapons. This establishes a sustained cadence of major updates roughly every 1–2 months since the 1.0 release, going well beyond the maintenance-only patches the developer hinted at in their November 2025 statement. All three DLC packs (Winter, Tiphanie, Contrast) are released. The developer confirmed cosmetics additions are guaranteed, and subsequent updates have consistently delivered on that. The game is actively receiving new content additions, not just bug fixes.
