Evaluation
Long Dream is a compact pixel narrative game developed by WildMonkey (solo developer "Laokong") that launched on April 10, 2023. The game was released as a complete, self-contained story — the developer described it shortly after launch as a finished product, noting "Long Dream may not be so long, but I hope it can leave a little touch in your heart."
The post-launch activity consists entirely of minor bug fix and patch notes posts, with no DLC, expansions, or additional content ever announced or released. There is no season pass, no roadmap, and no unreleased DLC on the store listing.
The most recent developer communication (November 12, 2025) is notable: it is a post from the same developer announcing the demo launch of an entirely new game called 《骤雨终日》 (a new pixel narrative adventure), which is described as the developer's third project and a spiritual successor to their previous games. This confirms the developer has moved on from Long Dream to a new project. No further content for Long Dream is mentioned or implied.
Long Dream launched as a finished narrative experience, received a handful of maintenance patches immediately after release, and the developer has since shifted focus to a new game. The game is complete.
Evidence
The same developer (WildMonkey / Laokong) announced the demo launch of a brand new game, 《骤雨终日》, their third project. Long Dream is mentioned only as prior work. No new content for Long Dream is announced or implied.
Developer posted patch notes and reflected on the completed game, saying 'Long Dream may not be so long, but I hope it can leave a little touch in your heart' — framing the game as a finished, self-contained work.

About this game
Zhao Sheng, a retired postman, has been suffering from dementia over the past years. But for some reason, the image of the peach tree in his dreams lingered in his head. He insists that his partner Qi Mei is waiting for him under the tree.
This image of the peach tree woke his remaining memories. The little things between him and his family after retirement, the interactions with the villagers when he was delivering their mails, the time when his children were born, and his days spent in the army are all returning to him. In each and every one of those memories, he was always with Qi Mei.
As his illness worsened, Zhao Sheng became unconscious of the difference between memory and reality, the difference between day and night, and unable to recognise his friends and families, but what hadn't changed was that he always remembered Qi Mei, who waited for him beneath the peach tree. Zhao Sheng’s family didn't want him to leave with any regrets and decided to go and find that peach tree he had been talking about, the place where he and Qi Mei made a promise to each other. Can he meet with the love of his life, who passed away a long time ago, underneath the peach tree of his dreams?

- A story from a few decades ago exceeding time and space, bringing you a uniquely reminiscing experience.
- A story filled with twists and turns and humorous dialogues.
- Pixel art that is crude and simple but enough to deliver the gaming experience.
- The entire game takes about 3-4 hours.
