Evaluation

The developer, Anonymous Penguin Studio, published a closing announcement on May 5, 2023, explicitly stating that they are "drawing the curtains on Lovebirb's development" and will not be pushing any more updates "in the foreseeable future." They described the game as a completed pet project and expressed pride in what they accomplished, while noting they are shifting focus to future projects. This is a clear, direct statement that development has concluded. A subsequent patch on February 26, 2024 made difficulty adjustments, but this appears to be minor maintenance rather than a reversal of the studio's stated intention to wind down — the developer did not issue any new statement walking back their May 2023 announcement. The game launched on March 14, 2023 and is available to purchase as a free-to-play title.
