lovebyte.exe entered Steam Early Access on August 24, 2026. Nochi Studios — a self-described indie team of four, self-funding and self-publishing — has been actively communicating and shipping updates since launch. The game has received multiple updates since its Early Access debut: a content patch (v0.8.14) on August 28, 2026; a feature update (v0.8.16) and hotfix (v0.8.17) in early September 2026; a minor update (v0.8.19) on September 9, 2026; and a substantial major update (v0.9.7) on September 25, 2026. The v0.9.7 update added three in-game days to each route, two new shimejis, a new card collectibles minigame, and additional fixes. Alongside v0.9.7, the developer published a concrete month-by-month roadmap stretching through early 2027: a small patch is expected in the next week or two; a major patch is planned for October 22, 2026 (adding Romance Easy Mode, online card selling, new collectible content, and readability improvements); November content will add mouth animations and three more in-game days per route; December will add a personal profile picture feature and a new card pack; January will add remaining in-game days up to the pre-ending moment; February will add all Ending scenes with voiced content; and a final Steam Deck optimization update is planned before version 1.0. The developer has explicitly stated that version 1.0 is targeted for sometime in Q1 2027, with the price increasing at that point. The game is clearly a work in progress with substantial content still planned and actively in development.
