MAGICAL DEATHPAIR

MAGICAL DEATHPAIR launched on January 10, 2022 as a partial release — the store description explicitly states that only the first chapter is playable in the Steam version. At launch, the developer noted that Chapter 2 was being worked on by the sole creator (yatsunagi), with a promise to announce its release via Steam News when ready. However, the last official communication from the developer was a minor patch note on January 21, 2022, adding in-game instructions for switching screen modes. Since that date — now more than four years ago — there have been no news posts, no updates, no status reports, and no announcements about Chapter 2 or any other aspect of the game. The developer promised to communicate through Steam News when Chapter 2 is ready, but no such announcement has come. Because the game was explicitly released as an incomplete product (Chapter 1 only) with Chapter 2 still promised, and the developer has been completely silent since January 21, 2022, it is unclear whether Chapter 2 is still being developed, has been abandoned, or is simply taking a very long time given the solo development context. Anyone considering this game should be aware that they are purchasing what is currently only the first chapter of the intended story, with no confirmed timeline or recent evidence that the remaining content will be delivered.
