Master Bladesmith

On June 30, 2024, the developer published an official statement explaining the full status of Master Bladesmith. The developer confirmed that the game is leaving Early Access not as the start of something new, but as the conclusion of the project. No further updates will be coming. The developer explicitly stated: "Moving Master Bladesmith to release is more-so an end to a project, than a beginning. It means that there will be no more updates for the game." The developer also explained their reasoning: the game's original roadmap included open-world and dungeon-exploration elements, but those ambitions turned out to be incompatible with what the game became. Rather than continue pushing in a direction that would break the existing game loop, the developer shifted that vision into an entirely separate spiritual successor project. Master Bladesmith itself is considered finished as-is. The developer acknowledged the game still has rough edges and expressed some personal regret about that, but made clear that the decision to mark it as released — rather than leave it in Early Access — was specifically so that players would not expect further updates that are not coming. The game launched originally in Early Access and received a number of updates through 2022, after which development on this title effectively ceased while the developer worked on the successor project. The June 30, 2024 release date marks when the game officially transitioned to its final, complete state with no further content planned.
