Metal Hunter

Metal Hunter launched on March 6, 2026 as a free-to-play fan JRPG. At launch, the developer noted the game was 95% complete, with Vehicle No. 8 and a final boss still to come. On July 7, 2026, development rights and operational responsibilities were transferred to the "Great Destruction Revival Committee," who confirmed they were working on completing the remaining story chapters, fixing bugs, and improving controls. On September 17, 2026, the V1.0 update shipped. This is a substantial release that adds full gamepad and Steam Deck support, Steam Achievements, Cloud Saves, a DLC framework, significant battle and movement improvements, and fixes a large number of bugs. The V1.0 label signals the developer now considers the game to have reached its complete, finished state. The previously outstanding story content and missing features appear to have been resolved with this update. While a DLC framework was added, no DLC has been announced or listed as unreleased — its presence simply means the infrastructure is in place should the developer choose to release optional content in the future. There are no outstanding commitments, no unreleased DLC listings, and no developer statements promising further content.
