Mirror 2: Project X

Mirror 2: Project X launched into Early Access on January 20, 2022, with a stated goal of delivering 8 story chapters before a full 1.0 release. The developer shipped content regularly through 2022: a second story chapter in April, a third (Caiyun) in June, a fourth (Lynn) in August, and a fifth (Young Rita) in September, alongside a new Challenge Mode and Home Mode. In January 2022, the developer had publicly committed to expanding the game to 8 chapters within 8–12 months. However, on September 30, 2022, a controversial refund announcement triggered a severe public backlash, harassment of team members, and ongoing regulatory pressure. By March 9, 2023, the developer published a formal bankruptcy notice stating that the studio had gone bankrupt as a result of fallout from that incident, and that development of the remaining story chapters had been "suspended indefinitely." The game was confirmed to remain in Early Access until development could be completed — but no timeline or path forward was offered. There have been no developer communications of any kind since the March 9, 2023 bankruptcy notice. The game shipped only 5 of its promised 8 chapters before development halted. The Early Access flag remains active, and the developer's last word was that they hope to complete the game "in the future, when we have the opportunity" — a statement that reflects uncertainty rather than any concrete plan. The studio's other projects (Novastella Island, DancingSim) were delisted from Steam as part of the wind-down.
