Mobile Dungeon is a free-to-play multiplayer RPG from Playa Games GmbH, launched on March 3, 2026, and built as an ongoing live service game with no endpoint in sight.
The game's structure makes its live service nature clear. It regularly opens new "game worlds" as separate servers — W7 launched March 10, 2026, and W8 launched June 17, 2026. Hero banners introducing new characters rotate on a near-monthly basis, and guild competitions offer exclusive cosmetic rewards. These are hallmarks of a game designed to receive content indefinitely.
The developer has been actively expanding the game since launch. The major Version 2.0 update (March 3, 2026) introduced the Shadow World mode with four new regions. Additional Shadow World regions followed on March 20, 2026 (Sunburn Desert and Split Canyon), with two more — Shadowrock Mountain and Plains of Oz'Korr — announced on July 23, 2026 and delivered in the August 5, 2026 patch (Version 2.011).
As of August 17, 2026 — today — the developer published a teaser for a brand-new feature called Alchemy, tied to the upcoming Shadow World unlock. This system introduces new equipment rarities (Heroic, Divine, Ancient) and three new gear-improvement mechanics (Transmutation, Distillation, Masterwork). No release date has been set, but the developer explicitly states it is coming. The developer has maintained consistent, frequent communication throughout 2026, with no indication of any planned slowdown.
