Evaluation

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection launched on October 29, 2025 as a retro compilation with an interactive documentary format. Since launch, Digital Eclipse has been actively building out the product with substantial new features. At launch, the developer immediately communicated that Online Arcade — a 16-player lobby mode — was already in development. A beta test for that feature went live on November 21, 2025, and the full Online Arcade mode shipped on December 10, 2025, adding public/private rooms, friend invites, the "Khronicle of the Realms" lore section, and emulation improvements. Development continued into 2026: a March 25, 2026 patch added versus AI with configurable difficulty, room codes, and improved move and combo list tools across multiple game versions. On April 28, 2026, the most-requested feature — Krossplay cross-platform multiplayer across PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC — launched as a major update. Throughout this period, Digital Eclipse has also shipped multiple smaller patches improving stability, audio, fatality detection, and other quality-of-life items. No specific future content has been publicly announced, but the developer has maintained a consistent cadence of substantial updates roughly every few months since launch, with the most recent major feature shipping on April 28, 2026. The developer has not signaled that work on the title is complete.
