Evaluation

MotionRec launched on Steam on October 27, 2025 as a complete puzzle action game. Its only DLC is the Original Soundtrack, which was released simultaneously with the game on launch day. Since release, the developer has issued a series of bug fix and polish patches (versions 1.02 through 1.06, running from November 2025 through February 2026), reflecting normal post-launch maintenance. On March 13, 2026, the developer announced console versions for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5, releasing April 2, 2026 — a platform expansion rather than new game content. No future content has been announced, no unreleased DLC exists on the store, and the developer has made no statements suggesting additional content is planned. This appears to be a complete, self-contained game that launched as a finished product.

About this game

Rec, the civilization-recording robot

MotionRec is a recording-based puzzle action game built around the concept of recording and playback. Use this ability to guide Rec, the civilization-recording robot, through a devastated world.

The power of MotionRec

You can record the trajectory of your movements, from walking to jumping. Use stage gimmicks to create and record more complex movements to traverse the world.

Record your movements...

...and play them back in another location!

This will let you reach places too high to jump up to, or even access spots where there's nothing to stand on. You can only play back your movements a certain number of times midair, however, and this is refreshed every time you land on the ground.

Make good use of the MotionRec ability to unravel the mysteries behind this devastated world ruled by machines!
