Evaluation
Museum of Other Realities launched into full release on February 26, 2020, after a period in Early Access. The game is a VR art museum designed around an explicitly ongoing model — its store description promises "regular art updates and events on an ongoing basis" and describes "a growing collection" as a core feature. From 2020 through 2022, the developer delivered on this promise with a series of major curated exhibitions: VIFF Immersed 2020 (September 2020), the Immersive Arcade showcase (March 2021), VIFF Immersed 2021 (October 2021), the Canadian Collection (December 2021), the Canadian Collection Chapter 2 (February 2022), and Tribeca Immersive 2022 (June–July 2022). This establishes a clear pattern of roughly two to three major content additions per year.
However, the Tribeca Immersive 2022 announcement on May 18, 2022 appears to be the last developer communication of any kind. There have been no news posts, patches, announcements, or updates since that date — a silence of more than four years as of June 2026. This is far beyond the historical cadence of content additions, with no explanation provided by the developer. The game remains purchasable and its store description still promises ongoing updates, but there is no evidence that the developer is still actively curating or adding content. Given the museum's core premise depends on this ongoing curation, the prolonged unexplained silence raises serious questions about whether the service is still being maintained.
Evidence
Tribeca Immersive 2022 announced and hosted in the museum from June 8 to July 1, 2022. This is the last developer communication on record.
Canadian Collection Chapter 2 launched, a major curated exhibition running February 4 to April 29, 2022.
