My Dad Left Me launched on August 5, 2022 as a free-to-play VR/desktop action game with 10 levels. On October 11, 2023, the developer posted a note explicitly describing an upcoming Wall of Fame update as likely "the last major update we do for this game," signaling that content development was winding down. The developer followed through with a significant 2-year anniversary update in August 2024 (upgrading the game to Unreal Engine 5 and improving lighting, boss fights, and gameplay systems), and then shipped the Full Revamped Update (v4.1.0) on October 21, 2024, which overhauled music, skyboxes, and Halloween level decorations.
