Evaluation

My Tasty Husband launched on July 23, 2026 as a complete narrative visual novel. The developer's launch post describes a fully realized experience: over 240,000 Chinese characters of text, three branching storylines, 12 endings, and a runtime of approximately 5–6 hours per playthrough. No DLC or additional story content has been announced. Since launch, the developer has shipped two updates. A bug-fix patch (V1.0.1) went out on July 24, 2026, correcting typos and minor presentation issues. On September 3, 2026, the developer released a more substantial patch adding controller support and Steam Deck compatibility — a technical improvement that had been promised in the launch FAQ (which noted this would arrive within one to two months of release). Both updates are maintenance and compatibility improvements, not new story content. No roadmap, season pass, or future content announcements have been made. The game appears to have launched as a finished product, but given that it has only been available since July 23, 2026, it is still early enough that any future content plans may not yet have been communicated publicly.

About this game

"Do you believe in monsters?" ”

If the person closest to you, the person you trust most, the person you can't be separated from, the person you share a bed with, the person most important to you, the person most beloved to you, the person fused into your very bones and blood, the person most reliable, the person most indispensable, the person as essential as lips to teeth—were replaced.

...

One stormy night, May watches her soaked husband at the door. Rainwater seeps in from under his feet. He smiles, same as ever.

But something is different. A black cat back from the dead, surveillance cameras appearing from nowhere, birds gathering everywhere... This sudden wave of strangeness makes it harder and harder to tell reality from hallucination. Meanwhile, the courier who keeps showing up and the female officer investigating alone each bring their own secrets into her life.

In this light horror narrative adventure of food, love, and death, players will see through May's eyes, unmask the one who shares her bed, and reach different relationships and endings through their choices.

Main Characters

[Labyrinth of the Heart] May

Her naturally curly hair is the only memento her mother left her. She once wore it long, but perhaps it was too hard to manage, so she took scissors and cut it short herself. She has cut away many things, including memories she wanted to forget completely. But leaving didn't help, and alcohol only offered fleeting blankness in her mind, followed by side effects she couldn't withstand. She has lost far more than she ever bargained for. Her whole life has been a flight, yet she never gets anywhere.

[Bones of Love] August

He started wearing glasses in sixth grade. They became like an external organ, helping him see the world more clearly. But seeing too clearly isn't always a good thing, so August chose silence, chose to follow blindly. He shut down his senses, refused to solve the obvious problems, and what he got was rot—even his bones became flower food.

August (?)

Who am I? Where did I come from? Where am I going? He hasn't figured out any of life's three ultimate questions, so He wants a name, a home, a future. Eat a piece of love, and you gain eternal love—or so He believes.

[The King Bows, The King Kills] Victor

A simple, single-minded, always-smiling rookie courier. He looks like he might be hiding dog ears under his cap. So straightforward he has no filter. A little blood won't leave a mark on his innocent heart—it never has. That heart has always been an open book. Cherish that heart, and be just as honest with him.

[Song of the Ivory Tower] Thelma

No one knows how Thelma went from state trooper to neighborhood patrol, and no one cares. She tried to start a new life here, but things veered off course the moment she picked up that ID badge. Perhaps she shouldn't have been so stubborn, shouldn't have chased every thread, shouldn't have knocked on that yellow door.
