Nature Treks VR launched on May 4, 2017 and received a series of updates through 2017 and into 2018. The major content additions were the "New environment, new animals, new ai" update on May 26, 2017, and the Animal Update on February 17, 2018 — the latter significantly expanding the game to 15 environments and over 60 animals. The developer explicitly stated in the February 2018 post that, given the project's scale, additional requests and feedback would be directed into a new project rather than this one.
From early 2019 through 2021, the developer went quiet on this game while working on that new project, Nature Treks: Together, which was announced on January 1, 2021. The developer acknowledged an 18-month silence in that post. The last recorded update to Nature Treks VR itself was a bug fix on November 6, 2018.
The developer's own communications make clear that the original Nature Treks VR is considered a completed work, with ongoing creative energy channeled into the successor title. No new content has been announced or released for Nature Treks VR since February 2018, and the developer has not indicated any plans to return to it. The Animal Update on February 17, 2018 appears to be the point at which content development concluded.
Evidence
Developer announced Nature Treks: Together as the next evolution of the concept, acknowledging 18 months of silence on the original game. The new project is clearly where ongoing development focus has shifted.
