New Heights left Early Access on February 26, 2026 with a landmark update that added rope-based belaying physics, a full climbing system rework, and the Hanshelleren Cave location in Norway. At launch, the developer stated: "This of course doesn't mean that we will stop updating the game. We are always looking to add new locations and improve the climbing system." On July 1, 2026, the developer followed up with a direct statement on the game's future: "Development is going to be slower than when we were in Early Access, but not completely halted... new locations will drop, just at a much slower pace." This post also delivered a fixes patch restoring the workshop tool and achievements. The game has a clear history of substantial content additions throughout its life: major Fontainebleau bouldering content in January 2024, the Steam Workshop and additional Fontainebleau locations in July 2024, and the full 1.0 release in February 2026. The developer has now acknowledged a pace change — they are a small team that needs to balance commercial work — but has explicitly confirmed that new locations are still coming. Create Custom Routes and Locations

Create locations with full creative freedom using our custom Unity-based workshop tool. Set your routes with pre-made holds, or import any 3D model to climb it in New Heights. Or design new pitches while climbing at existing crags. The workshop possibilities are vast!
