Evaluation
Nuclear Dawn launched on September 26, 2011 as an FPS/RTS hybrid. The developer (InterWave Studios, published by Iceberg Interactive) supported the game with regular patches and feature updates through 2012–2014, including major updates adding a leveling system (v6.9, December 2012), a new Skirmish game mode and Steam Workshop support (v6.8, November 2012), and full cross-platform Linux/Mac/Windows play (v7.1, April 2014).
On December 12, 2014, the developer explicitly stated in a news post: "Although development has stopped for the game..." — a clear, direct confirmation that active development had ended. This is the definitive statement on the game's development status.
Following that statement, a handful of maintenance patches were still issued between 2015 and 2018, addressing crashes, security fixes, and minor bug corrections. The last such patch was released on October 7, 2018. These were purely maintenance-oriented updates with no new features or content, consistent with a game whose development had already been declared complete.
On September 6, 2021, a 10th anniversary sale post was published, but it contained no announcements of new content or resumed development — it was simply a celebration and discount promotion.
No unreleased DLC exists on the store, no roadmap or future content has been announced, and the developer's own words confirm development stopped. The game shipped as a complete product and has been in a maintenance-only state since 2014.

About this game
Nuclear Dawn is the first game to offer a full FPS and RTS experience, within a single gameplay model, without crippling or diluting either side of the game.
As a soldier, explore war-torn post-apocalyptic landscapes, modelled on modern cities, and take the fight to your enemies as armoured, assault or stealth infantry, using various weapons across ten distinct load-outs to accomplish your objectives. The first person shooter action in Nuclear Dawn is hard, fast and unforgiving, with weapons that rely on skill and tactics more than on twitch reflexes and map memorization.
Then, take Nuclear Dawn above the action, and play as the commander. Organize your fellow players in squads, and assign them to tactical objectives. Plan the resource routes for your army, and production of your structures for forward deployment. Exploit the terrain and resource point locations to block your enemies’ advance, and crush their plans in an iron fist. Research and implement new technologies to give your soldiers the edge on the battlefield, and set up forward bases to lead the assault on your enemies, with a full complement of defensive and offensive structures to choose from, to build your perfect fortress.
