OneShot originally launched on December 8, 2016 as a complete, self-contained puzzle adventure game. On September 30, 2024, KOMODO and Future Cat LLC released OneShot: World Machine Edition — a fully rebuilt and expanded version on a new engine, featuring enhanced graphics, new galleries, a music box, Steam Deck support, and additional content for returning players. This was followed by a small patch on October 9, 2024 that ported a hint improvement from World Machine Edition back into the original release. Both DLC items (the original OST and the Solstice OST) were released in early 2017 and there are no unreleased DLC items listed. There is no roadmap, no announced future content, and no developer statements suggesting additional updates are planned for the original OneShot on Steam. The World Machine Edition, which represents the expanded definitive version of the game, is a separate Steam listing. The developer's current focus appears to be on their next game, Margin of the Strange, for which a Kickstarter launched in May 2024. With all content shipped and no outstanding commitments communicated for this listing, the game is considered complete as of the October 9, 2024 patch.
