Evaluation

Open Sorcery launched on February 22, 2017 as a complete narrative game. The developer subsequently shipped one DLC — Jingle BEL/S — on December 17, 2018, which was a holiday-themed expansion featuring BEL/S's first holiday season. That DLC received a bug-fix pass on December 27, 2018. The store listing shows no unreleased DLC. The most recent developer communication of any kind was a May 15, 2022 post that added a menu link pointing players to the sequel, Open Sorcery: Sea++. This post was purely a navigation convenience update and contained no hint of further content for the original game. The developer's attention clearly shifted to the sequel (announced in March 2018), and the original game has received no patches, announcements, or content updates since December 2018. With one shipped DLC, no unreleased DLC on the store, no announced future content, and no developer activity beyond a minor UI addition in 2022, Open Sorcery is a complete, finished product. The last content shipped was Jingle BEL/S on December 17, 2018.
