Evaluation

Out of Ammo launched out of Early Access on September 15, 2016. At launch, RocketWerkz indicated plans for both free and paid content post-release. In December 2016, a planned DLC was announced, but it grew into a separate standalone sequel — Out of Ammo 2: Death Drive — released in 2017, rather than additional content for the original game. The original game continued to receive maintenance and feature patches, including a significant engine and systems overhaul in October 2018 (v1.0.8) and another major quality-of-life update in March 2019 (v1.0.9). The most recent developer communication was the "2020 Update" published on June 25, 2020, which delivered broad VR hardware compatibility improvements, UI overhauls, and gameplay polish. That post framed the update as a long-overdue refresh to bring the game up to modern VR standards, with no mention of any future content or ongoing development plans. There are no unreleased DLC entries on the store, no roadmap or outstanding commitments from the developer, and no developer communications of any kind since June 25, 2020 — now over six years ago. The game's store description lists a fixed set of missions and features with no indication of evolving content. The content of Out of Ammo appears to have been finalized with the 2020 Update.
Evidence
The 2020 Update delivered broad VR hardware compatibility, UI polish, and gameplay improvements for both Out of Ammo and Death Drive. No future content announced — this is the last developer communication on record.
