Out of the Park Baseball 22 launched on March 26, 2021 as the 22nd annual installment in the OOTP franchise. The studio released several patches throughout 2021, adding roster updates and fixing bugs. On April 22, 2022, the successor title — Out of the Park Baseball 23 — launched on Steam. Shortly after, on June 8, 2022, the developer posted an official notice explaining that OOTP 22 (along with all previous editions) would no longer be available for purchase. The stated reason was that the back-end provider for the game's live services was ending support, making it impossible for the studio to continue selling the game to new users. Existing owners retain access through their Steam libraries, but no new purchases are possible. The game is no longer purchasable on Steam.
