Evaluation
Outcast - A New Beginning launched on March 15, 2024 as a complete, standalone open-world action-adventure game. The only DLC listed is a soundtrack pack that released on the same day as the game itself — there are no additional story expansions, content packs, or season passes on the store, and none have been announced.
Following launch, Appeal Studios issued a hotfix on March 20, 2024, a feature/bug-fix patch on March 28, 2024, another on April 22, 2024, and a final feature patch on June 4, 2024. That June patch — the last official communication from the developer — added quality-of-life improvements such as a new console framerate mode and widescreen fixes, alongside further bug fixes. No post-launch content roadmap was ever published, and no future DLC or expansions have been announced at any point.
Since June 4, 2024, the developer has been silent, with no news posts, patches, or announcements of any kind. Given that the game launched as a self-contained narrative experience with no announced post-launch content plans, and that developer activity has ceased after a standard post-launch polish period, the game appears to have shipped and been supported to completion.

About this game
20 years after the award-winning action adventure hit, Outcast, pioneered the genre of non-linear open-world games, the long-awaited sequel sees Cutter Slade return to the spectacular alien world of Adelpha. Resurrected by the almighty Yods, he has returned to find the Talans enslaved, the world stripped of its natural resources, and his own past intertwining with the invading robot forces. It's up to him to go on a mission and save the planet again.
The original team behind Outcast 1 has reunited to create this fascinating world, full of dangerous creatures and home to the Talan people – an ancient culture whose fate has become inextricably linked with earth since the events of the first game. You play as Cutter Slade, ex-Navy SEAL, sporting the same dry wit he had back in the 90s – however, the world around him has changed and eventually, so will he.
To save Adelpha, you will …
