Outnumbered

Outnumbered launched as a free-to-play game on September 9, 2022 and has been actively developed since, receiving multiple new game modes, weapons, balance passes, and quality-of-life improvements over the years. On June 4, 2026, the developer shipped the V1.0.0 update — the long-promised milestone that completed the game's roadmap. This update added the final new game mode (Entropy), resolved outstanding balance issues, and reset the leaderboards for a clean slate. Crucially, in the same V1.0.0 post the developer explained that the game's aging technical foundation (an early version of Unity ECS/DOTS whose API has since changed drastically) makes ongoing maintenance increasingly difficult, and that a full engine upgrade would require a complete rewrite. Rather than continuing to patch the current codebase, the developer stated they intend to move on to a new project — a "true successor" that incorporates lessons learned from Outnumbered. This is a clear signal that active development of this game is concluding with the 1.0 release, not continuing beyond it. All previously announced roadmap content has now shipped. No new DLC, expansions, or updates have been announced for this game going forward. The single DLC listed (the Pro Edition supporter pack) was released on launch day and has always been available. The game reached its complete, finished state on June 4, 2026.
