Outpost

Outpost launched as a free-to-play game on May 1, 2020 and received consistent post-launch updates. The developer shipped a major free Chapter II update on July 18, 2020, followed by additional feature patches through late 2020. After a period of quiet (during which the developer was working on a separate game called Valor), they returned in February 2023 with the free Outpost 2.0 update and announced the paid expansion Outpost: Kingdoms. That expansion launched on September 13, 2023, completing the content roadmap that had been outlined since early 2023. The most telling signal came on April 17, 2024, when the developer announced a brand-new game — Spellslinger Towns — stating they had been working on it for the past few months. This announcement, posted on the Outpost news feed, effectively signals that the studio's active development focus has shifted away from Outpost. There have been no further content announcements, roadmap posts, or update patches for Outpost after the Kingdoms DLC shipped in September 2023. Both DLC entries in the store are released, no unreleased DLC is listed, and no future content for Outpost has been communicated. The developer's shift to a new title, combined with the absence of any post-Kingdoms content signals, indicates that Outpost reached its content conclusion with the Kingdoms expansion on September 13, 2023.
