Evaluation

Paint it Back launched on October 14, 2015 as a complete nonogram/picross puzzle game featuring 150 paintings across 15 rooms. After launch, the developer shipped several meaningful updates: a Mark-Up Mode in October 2015, the Workshop feature in April 2016 (allowing players to create and share their own paintings), a bonus "2016 US Election" themed room in August 2016, and finally a macOS 64-bit compatibility update in September 2019. The September 2019 macOS patch is the last recorded developer communication of any kind. Since then — now more than six years later — there have been no announcements, updates, or developer posts of any kind. The game's store description presents a fixed, enumerated feature list with no mention of upcoming content, and there are no unreleased DLC listings. The developer never announced a roadmap or additional content beyond what was delivered. All signs point to a game that has been complete since its last update in September 2019.
