Evaluation

PC Virtual LAB launched on July 18, 2022 as an educational simulation game focused on PC building and computer science concepts. Since launch, the developer has delivered meaningful updates at a sustained pace. A feature patch in September 2024 (version 1.2) added pretest/posttest features, VR performance improvements, and OpenXR compatibility, and noted ongoing work toward a Meta standalone version. Then on October 6, 2025, the developer shipped Version 2.0 — a major update adding two new difficulty levels (Intermediate and Hard), a Free Practice Mode, reworked grab and placement mechanics, and performance optimizations. This establishes a pattern of roughly 12-month intervals between major content releases. The last developer communication was on October 6, 2025. As of today (October 1, 2026), approximately 12 months have passed since that release — right at the outer edge of the established cadence window. The developer has not announced that development is complete, and the September 2024 mention of ongoing Meta standalone work remains unresolved. No specific future content has been formally announced, but the sustained update history and absence of any closure statement mean development appears to be continuing.
