Pekoe

Pekoe launched into Early Access on June 28, 2023 and received two major content updates during its first year: the "Techniques and Tweaks" update (October 25, 2023) and the "Seasons" update (December 20, 2023). On September 19, 2024, Kitten Cup Studio announced that the game would leave Early Access and launch in full (version 1.0) in Q4 2024. That launch did not happen. On December 2, 2024, the studio posted an update explaining that unforeseen complications had forced them to extend Early Access, with no specific new release date given. They noted they were still actively working on the game and promised more news soon. On November 12, 2025, the studio posted again — their most recent communication — acknowledging that visible updates had slowed significantly. They explained that behind-the-scenes work on optimization and multi-platform preparation had been blocking regular updates, and that development of their other game, Capy Castaway, was consuming most of the team's time. They confirmed Pekoe is still (slowly) in development and promised to share updates if that status changes. As of today (June 23, 2026), there has been no further communication since November 12, 2025 — more than seven months of silence following an already-delayed launch. The game remains in Early Access with its 1.0 release outstanding but unscheduled, and the small team's divided attention introduces real uncertainty about the pace and trajectory of development.
