東周列萌志 Philosophic Love launched on Steam on August 17, 2018 as a free-to-play otome visual novel. After launch, the developer continued with bug fixes, background art reworks, and feature patches through late 2018 and into 2019. In May 2019, the developer published a letter to players (NEWS-1) disclosing that the studio had nearly gone bankrupt but was rescued by a new investor. At that time, they outlined outstanding commitments from their crowdfunding campaigns: three free unlockable character routes/endings (the innkeeper, Zou Yan, and a scholar), paid costume DLC, and a second crowdfunding-promised route (Huang Xie). This was the last meaningful developer communication about future content plans. The final DLC — an art book (DLC-4) — was released on February 27, 2020, and appears to represent the last concrete deliverable shipped. Since that date, there have been no further news posts, updates, or developer communications of any kind. The 13 posts scanned span from August 2018 through February 2020, with nothing after that date. The May 2019 letter did outline several unshipped commitments, but the developer's subsequent silence since at least February 2020 — now over six years — and the absence of any follow-up communication or content releases suggests those plans were not completed. No unreleased DLC is listed on the store. The developer never posted a formal "development is complete" statement, but the extended silence and lack of any store-listed unreleased content, combined with the art book being the last item released, points to the game having reached the end of its active content lifecycle.
