Pictopix

Pictopix launched on January 5, 2017 as a finished puzzle game with over 300 colored nonogram puzzles. The developer, Tomlab Games (a solo developer), consistently added substantial content in the years following launch: the Steam Workshop launched on January 27, 2017, new music and language support arrived in May 2017, a large Anniversary Update with 45 new puzzles shipped on January 5, 2018, new game modes (Endless and Challenges) were added in May 2018, Twitch integration came in August 2018, and the Mosaics mode — a fully new game mode with over 100 puzzles — arrived as a free update on March 14, 2019. After the Mosaics update, the cadence of major content releases ended. The May 2020 update was a feature patch focused on quality-of-life improvements (a revised award system, grid background patterns, and focus-loss behavior) rather than new puzzle content. The February 2022 update added Steam Deck compatibility. The most recent developer communication was on February 18, 2026, announcing a bundle deal with another game — a promotional post that does not indicate any new content for Pictopix itself. The game has received no major content additions since the Mosaics mode in March 2019. The developer has made no announcements of upcoming content, no roadmap, and no unreleased DLC is listed on the store. The store description presents the game as a complete package ("over 300 colored puzzles, 4 game modes and a puzzle editor"). The post-2019 communications have been maintenance, compatibility, and promotional in nature.
