PixARK launched out of Early Access on May 31, 2019 and has received continuous post-launch content over more than seven years. The Terracrypt Expansion Pack — listed on the Steam store as unreleased — is set to go live on August 26, 2026, just one day after today's assessment date. The developer has been running an extensive pre-launch communications campaign: on June 26, 2026 they officially announced Terracrypt with a release window of August; on June 30 they published Developer Log #1 on the design philosophy of the underground world; on July 9, Feature Preview #1 detailed a new Save Backup System for single-player mode shipping free alongside the expansion; on July 23, Feature Preview #2 introduced Quick-Switch Companion Creatures; on August 14, Feature Preview #3 detailed the Revival Doll and crafting-from-nearby-storage systems. On August 17, 2026 the developer confirmed the exact launch date and $9.99 price point. On August 23, 2026 they promoted a free weekend and sale running through the launch window. On August 24, 2026 they published a detailed server rollout schedule for launch day. Crucially, the July 31, 2026 server infrastructure post explicitly frames the changes as laying "a stronger foundation for Terracrypt and the updates still to come," and notes that "additional servers will be brought online gradually after Terracrypt launches" — a direct statement that more content and updates are planned beyond Terracrypt itself. The game also has a strong history of prior post-launch content: the Legacy of Ancient Egypt DLC shipped in August 2024, the Jade Elegance DLC in February 2024, the Candy Store DLC in April 2023, and the Every Little Thing You Do Is Magic DLC in October 2023, alongside earlier releases going back to 2019. The developer is clearly in active support of the game with more content explicitly signaled for the future.
