Evaluation
Pixel Restorer launched as a free-to-play puzzle game on September 18, 2024. Since launch, Catnip Studio has released 25 DLC packs — a mix of "Character Packs" and "Image Folders" — at a steady, ongoing cadence. The first DLC arrived the day after launch (September 19, 2024), and new Image Folders continued to arrive through April 27, 2026, which is the most recent release (Image Folder 25).
Looking at the release pattern: Character Packs 1–8 were released between September 19 and October 27, 2024. Image Folders then shipped in waves: Folders 9–12 in late November 2024, Folders 13–19 in early January 2025, Folders 20–22 in April–May 2025, Folders 23–24 in June 2025, and Folder 25 on April 27, 2026. While the pace slowed after mid-2025 (a roughly 10-month gap between Folder 24 on June 13, 2025 and Folder 25 on April 27, 2026), the developer did return with another release in April 2026. The gap between Folder 25 (April 27, 2026) and today (September 24, 2026) is approximately 5 months — comparable to previous quiet periods in the release history.
No developer statement has indicated that DLC releases are finished. The January 10, 2025 news post announced a separate new game (Nature Atelier) but said nothing about Pixel Restorer's DLC development ending. All 25 DLC packs are released; none are listed as unreleased. Given the established pattern of returning with new Image Folders after extended quiet periods, and the absence of any completion announcement, the game continues to follow a pattern of periodic content additions.
Evidence
Image Folder 25 released on April 27, 2026 — the most recent DLC, confirming the developer has continued adding content packs well into 2026.
25 DLC packs in total have been released since launch, spanning Image Folders numbered up to 25 and Character Packs numbered up to 8, showing a sustained content release pattern.
