Evaluation

Planet Killer launched on September 9, 2026, and the developer has been extremely active since then. In just the first week after release, six patches shipped (v1.0.6 through v1.0.11), each adding new features and game systems — including a new "retire run" mechanic, ship class identities, new passive perks, new starting weapons, re-roll systems, Steam Cloud support, an expanded ship circuit system, and continuous balance and bug fix work. Importantly, in the pre-launch announcement on August 31, 2026, the developer explicitly stated: "I already have several larger post-launch updates planned, along with plenty of smaller additions and improvements." The launch post on September 9, 2026 reinforced this, noting that balancing would be "an on-going process" with "many more post launch patches coming." These are clear statements of intent to continue adding content beyond what has already shipped. The game is very freshly launched (September 9, 2026, just 13 days before today's assessment date of September 22, 2026), and the developer — a solo developer who has been highly communicative — is actively engaged with the community and the product. The pace and scope of post-launch updates, combined with the developer's stated plans for further substantial updates, indicate this game is in active and sustained post-launch development with more content to come.
Evidence
Patch v1.0.10 adds new ship class identities, wingman waypoints, and multiple new game systems. Developer states 'there will likely be more patches soon as I continue getting the game to an extremely stable point.'
