Evaluation
Pneumata launched on September 19, 2024 and received several bug fix and quality-of-life patches in its first weeks. The developer, Antonio (a solo developer), acknowledged that the game fell short of its potential at launch and announced a major free rework update.
The update was first announced on December 20, 2024 as "Pneumata: Redux," targeting Q1 2025. That deadline passed without release. The update was later rebranded as "Pneumata: The Lamb" and expanded in scope. On September 19, 2025, the developer confirmed The Lamb would arrive in two parts: Part 1 reworks the original game and incorporates elements of a planned sequel (approximately 3–4 hours), and Part 2 wraps up the story (approximately 5 hours). Both parts are free updates for existing owners.
A demo for The Lamb was released on October 13, 2025. However, as of the developer's last public communication on December 31, 2025, the full Part 1 update still had no release date. The developer cited their own inexperience causing delays and expressed continued passion for the project, with a stated vision of developing the Pneumata universe for the next 5–10 years.
Since December 31, 2025, there has been no further communication from the developer. This six-month silence — following a history of repeatedly missed self-imposed deadlines — raises genuine uncertainty about whether and when the promised content will arrive. The game has a framework of committed free updates, but the solo developer has struggled to deliver on timelines, and there is currently no public signal that Part 1 has shipped or that development is progressing on schedule.
Evidence
Developer confirms 'The Lamb' update is still in development as of December 31, 2025, with no release date. Developer expresses continued passion and a 5–10 year commitment to the Pneumata universe.
Demo for The Lamb pushed to October 13, 2025. Developer describes The Lamb as a rework of the base game combined with elements of a planned sequel, delivered as a free update.
