POOSTALL Royale launched on April 1, 2023 as a free-to-play joke game by the "C Team" at Running With Scissors. Despite its April Fools origins, the developer immediately confirmed the game and its planned updates were genuine, and published a public roadmap on April 2, 2023 outlining features they intended to add. On April 1, 2024 (the game's first anniversary), the developer posted an update confirming they had been actively working on improvements — including expanded maps, new weapons, selectable costumes, new playable characters, a reworked HUD, and more. They explicitly stated "we've got one in the works already" and reaffirmed their commitment to free future updates, describing the game as a long-term passion project. However, as of June 21, 2026, there has been no further communication from the developer since that April 1, 2024 post — a silence of over 14 months. The update that was described as already in progress has not been publicly released or mentioned again. Given the developer's stated enthusiasm and the specificity of the content they showed off, the long silence without explanation makes it unclear whether development is still ongoing.
