Possessor(s) launched on November 11, 2025 and received a series of post-launch patches addressing bugs, balance issues, and quality-of-life improvements. On December 12, 2025, the producer explicitly stated "This is our last patch for Possessor(s)," wrapping up the post-launch support period and thanking the publisher and QA partner for their work on the project. Earlier, on December 5, 2025, the producer had revealed that most of the team was lost to layoffs before launch, with the remaining skeleton crew handling all post-launch support. However, the story did not end there. On April 29, 2026, Heart Machine shipped Patch 7 — breaking the earlier "final patch" statement — in response to the game's Nintendo Switch 2 launch. This patch addressed Map Progress Tracking, POI marker fixes, and gameplay adjustments, and the game also received a permanent price reduction to $9.99 USD across all platforms. This April 29, 2026 patch represents the last known developer activity and is the most recent update to the game.
