Evaluation

Pull Stay launched into full 1.0 release on March 31, 2025, after approximately 7 years of development (including an Early Access period). On that date, the developer posted a release announcement explicitly stating that "my original plan for Pull Stay was basically completed." The developer did mention that additional content "might not be unthinkable" if the game finds a significantly larger audience, but this is a casual, tentative remark rather than a commitment to future content — and no such content has materialized in the roughly 15 months since launch. Post-launch activity has consisted entirely of bug fix patches (v1.0.6 in January 2026, v1.0.7 in February 2026), with no announcements of new content, DLC, or expansions. There are no unreleased DLC listings on the store. The game shipped as a complete product and the developer has continued to maintain it with bug fixes, but has not announced or delivered any new content since the 1.0 release.
Evidence
Developer announces 1.0 full release after 7 years of development, stating the original plan for Pull Stay is 'basically completed.' Hints that additional content is possible if the game reaches many more players, but makes no commitment to it.

About this game

  • Beat 'em up brawler as the core mechanic. You can learn a new move by smacking each enemy type accordingly.

  • Silly and funny Traps: Baked fish missile, Toothpaste turret, Watermelon bazooka... and much more! 15 types of gadgets are ready to be unlocked by you!

  • Break neighbors' houses to collect resources. Use them to set traps or build a new room.

  • You can have Susumu make power-up items for you. But be careful! When he's goofing off, give him some loving punishment.

Encounter quirky bosses!

Besides defending your house, you need to counter various bosses coming this way. Don't be fooled by their strange appearance. It's their tactics!

  • Young jobless guy who is avoiding social interactions and shutting himself inside his room all day.

  • In Japan, people like him are called Hikikomori(shut-in), which has become a big social problem.

  • Enemies are trying to reach out to Susumu because they are worried about him, or want to mock him, or just want to see a hikikomori firsthand...

  • When enemies reach Susumu, the game is over. I cannot explain what exactly will happen there, but I can relate to Susumu so badly because I'm also a Hikikomori. I'm making this game solo just trying to reflect my own situation with this game...
