Evaluation

Pygmalion entered Steam Early Access on November 23, 2023 as a color-based puzzle game with visual novel elements. Since launch, the developer (CandLE) has posted patch updates and roadmap announcements, indicating ongoing work on the game. On December 31, 2025, CandLE published a detailed development status post outlining their goals for the official 1.0 release. This included a significant amount of planned content: Episode 3 (the story conclusion), a full story overhaul with animated character presentations, new puzzle mechanics (I-Core blocks and Negative tiles), composite gimmick puzzles, a player-created puzzle system with shareable map codes, a competitive ranking mode, a new prologue, additional music, accessibility features, and Android and iOS versions. The developer explicitly stated they were "aiming for an official release in the first half of 2026." However, that same post disclosed a serious team situation: the original four-person development team had been reduced to effectively one person due to members departing for employment, relocation, and personal reasons. The developer acknowledged this had "significantly slowed" development. As of today, June 21, 2026, the first-half-of-2026 target window has closed with no follow-up post confirming a launch, a delay, or any other update. The December 31, 2025 post is the last known official communication from CandLE. Given the scope of what remains to be built, the reduced team size, and the missed self-imposed deadline with no explanation, there is genuine uncertainty about whether and when the 1.0 release will arrive.
Evidence
Developer status update confirms game is still in development. Reveals team has shrunk from four to one person. Outlines extensive planned content for the 1.0 release including Episode 3, story overhaul, new puzzle mechanics, puzzle creation/sharing, ranking mode, mobile versions, and more. Developer is aiming for an official release in the first half of 2026.

About this game

Pygmalion is a puzzle game using color synthesis.

Clear the stage by colliding the blocks with each other.

Removing all blocks within a certain number of times clears the stage.

Easy rules, but not quite easy puzzles

We created a puzzle to increase the difficulty by limiting the number of block movements and to achieve a sense of accomplishment when solving it.

Puzzle stages created using the properties of colors allow you to feel a new experience in each stage as you synthesize and separate various colors.

The combination of puzzle and visual Novel

Pygmalion created storytelling by connecting colors and emotions, which are the main subjects of the puzzle.

The concept of studying robot with emotions is a short story production for each stage.
