Evaluation

Ragnarock launched on July 15, 2021 and has maintained a consistent, ongoing pattern of new content ever since. The DLC history shows repeated waves of paid music and skin packs: Gloryhammer tracks (March 2022), individual songs (June 2022), Epica/Korpiklaani/Beast in Black packs (December 2022), Sabaton packs (June 2023), Jonathan Young packs (December 2023), Alestorm Music Pack and Pirate Skin Pack (April 4, 2025), Viking Music Pack and Summer Skin Pack (July 16, 2025). The base game has also received free seasonal updates with new songs and cosmetics on a recurring basis. In January 2025, the developer ran a community feedback survey explicitly stating "It's 2025 and we want more for Ragnarock this year," signaling continued investment in the game's future. On July 31, 2025, the developer announced a mobile version of the game (RagnaRock: Viking Rhythm), which launched on iOS and Android on September 12, 2025 as a free-to-play title — demonstrating that the studio is actively expanding the Ragnarock brand. Most recently, on June 30, 2026, the developer released Update 2.8.0, adding two new officially licensed songs (Strangeland's "Mister Misery" and Lordi's "Hard Rock Hallelujah") to the base game. The accompanying post notes that "Bringing new music to Ragnarock sometimes takes months of discussions, but it's something we believe is worth the effort," and references the ongoing process of working with bands and labels on new agreements — implying future songs are being actively pursued. The developer has not announced the conclusion of content development, and this very recent update confirms the game remains in active development as of mid-2026.
