Rebloom

Forget swords and shields. In Rebloom, your only defence against the undead is a garden. Pick a flower, plant its seeds and watch them bloom, while the decay creeps back and the dead climb out of it to eat your work.

Every flower is a weapon

Each flower carries up to three traits, and when it blooms they burst out onto the ground around it:

• Thorns stab up through the ground at any zombie standing in them.
  
• Leaves grow grass, and the grass pushes the decay back.
  
• Swirls slow the horde to a crawl.

Mix them, and stack them up to four levels each: 125 kinds of flower in all.

Grow your own arsenal

Nature doesn't just grow, it evolves. Any bloom can mutate into something stronger, and two different flowers grown side by side can cross-pollinate into a brand-new kind. Pick it to keep it: every new flower goes into your collection, and the rarest take the most work to breed.

The hungry dead

Grow ten flowers and the zombies wake. They want you, but they'll happily snack on your garden on the way, and the longer you take, the stronger and faster they get. Plan your beds: a field of thorns between you and the horde is worth more than any sword.

Ten islands, ten bosses

Push the decay back far enough and something bigger rises to defend it. Lure each boss across your sharpest flowers before it eats its way through the garden. Win, and your flowers go back in the bag as seeds for the next island.

Home at the lighthouse

Between islands, sail home to the old man's lighthouse:

• The greenhouse lab: spend the DNA you've gathered on range, coverage and duration upgrades for your best flowers, or recycle the ones you don't need.
  
• The tailor's stall: dress your gardener from 29 hairstyles, 33 outfits and 18 accessories, with more to win from the zombies you defeat.
  
• The sea chart: pick where to land next. The islands are shuffled every run, and each one is harder than the last.

Then turn it up

Save the lighthouse to unlock higher infection levels: twelve in all, for gardeners who think they've seen everything the decay can do.
