Rebornia is a free-to-play 2D MMORPG that has been in continuous development since its release on March 6, 2020. By its nature as an MMORPG — with guilds, PvP, housing, pets, dungeons, and a card system — it is designed to grow and evolve over time as an ongoing online world rather than ship as a finished product with a defined endpoint. The developer went through a rocky early period: in June 2020 they scaled back to a closed alpha due to bug complaints and hosting costs, and in November 2020 they announced a full restart to rebuild with a better engine. Despite these setbacks, development continued, and by July 2023 the game had progressed enough for the developer to declare it had reached a Beta phase. Since then, the pace of development has picked up considerably. A new Assassin class launched in August 2023, followed by graphical and performance improvements in January 2025, new UI features (minimap, Monster Wiki, world map) in August 2024, and a major update in February 2026 adding a revamped PvP system, a Black Market, and player housing. Most recently, on January 8, 2026, the developer explicitly stated the game is "back in active development" with a dedicated team — and that momentum was followed by the Android version launching on May 26, 2026, bringing the full game to mobile devices. The game shows no signs of winding down. The developer is actively shipping major features, has expanded to a new platform, and operates as an online game that is inherently ongoing. This is consistent with a live, evolving online game experience.
