Evaluation

REDSHIFT launched into Early Access on September 2, 2025 as a short solo-developed psychological horror game designed to be completed in 10–20 minutes. From launch through December 2025, the developer (a solo developer named Luke) was actively patching the game, shipping updates roughly every few weeks covering bug fixes, lighting overhauls, accessibility improvements, and gameplay refinements. The most significant developer communication came on December 16, 2025, when Luke announced exciting news: the game had been accepted into a special development program, bringing the team from one person to 3–4 developers. The post explicitly promised "the possibility of a new story, level, and much more gameplay," targeting a release "middle of next year" — meaning mid-2026. That window has now passed. Today is August 8, 2026, and there has been no developer post, update, patch, or announcement since December 16, 2025 — a silence of nearly eight months. This is a significant departure from the previously active update cadence, and the promised mid-2026 content has not appeared with any accompanying communication. It's unclear whether the development program is still active, whether the expanded team has continued work, or whether the project has stalled.

Redshift is a short solo developed psychological narrative horror game where you close your eyes to reveal a hidden layer of reality, the REDSHIFT.

You play as Samuel Chase, a field technician sent by Northline Communications to restore power to a long‑abandoned military relay tower deep in the hills. The job feels routine, but is quickly revealed to be something much more. By activating the tower and starting the REDSHIFT, you reveal things that were never meant to be seen.
