Regiments launched on August 16, 2022 and received a strong post-launch content run: the "Second Wave" free update (December 24, 2022) added new operations, regiments, and units; the "Iron Curtain" free update (April 18, 2023) added five more regiments and additional content; and the "Winds of Change" paid DLC (August 16, 2024) introduced an entirely new procedurally-generated War Paths mode alongside 70+ new units and four new factions. The sole listed DLC is fully released.
On March 19, 2026, the developer posted a candid status update explaining that after the 1.4.5 patch in September 2024, they took an extended break due to burnout after working on Regiments nearly continuously since 2016. They confirmed they were now focused on a new (unannounced) project but committed to delivering one final update for Regiments as a proper send-off.
That final update — version 1.5.0, titled "The Final Update" by the developer — shipped on April 25, 2026, adding several new regiments, new units, Steam achievements, and numerous gameplay improvements and fixes. Follow-up hotfixes (1.5.1 through 1.5.4) addressed bugs through April 30, 2026. The developer explicitly called this the final update in both the March 2026 status post and the April 2026 patch notes.
With the developer having explicitly stated development is complete and the final update now shipped, Regiments is a finished product. The developer's next project is described as a separate game.
