Reprisal Universe launched on September 15, 2014 as a complete, self-contained god-game inspired by Populous, featuring 34 planets, 184 islands, 15 totem powers, and a full campaign. Two feature patches shipped in the weeks following launch (September 26 and October 14, 2014), addressing balance, bug fixes, and adding quality-of-life improvements like viewport sizing and Genesis islands. These were clearly post-launch polish updates rather than the beginning of an ongoing content expansion cycle. No further meaningful updates occurred for over eight years. The most recent developer communication, on January 10, 2023, was a maintenance patch (version 36.04) that migrated the game to a new server after the old one became too expensive and fixed some map holes — purely keeping the lights on rather than adding new content. The developer has not announced any future content, roadmap, DLC, or expansion at any point. The game was designed and shipped as a finished product and has operated as such since its 2014 release.
