Restaurant Empire II launched on May 27, 2009 as a complete, self-contained game with a full feature set: two campaigns totaling 34 missions, four cuisines, over 600 recipes, and extensive sandbox content. The developer has never announced post-launch DLC, expansions, or a roadmap for additional content — the game shipped as a finished product.
Developer activity has continued in 2026, with a flurry of patches. Version 1.12 shipped on June 18, 2026, adding WASD map scrolling, improved font readability, and minor UI and balance tweaks. A follow-up patch (v1.13) on June 23, 2026 resolved keyboard shortcut conflicts introduced by 1.12. Most recently, on August 28, 2026 — just one day before today's assessment — a beta for Version 1.20 was released, adding borderless fullscreen mode, a larger interface scaling option, the ability to delete copied recipes, and an edge-panning toggle, along with several bug fixes.
This recent activity shows the developer is actively maintaining and modernizing the game for contemporary systems, but none of these updates introduce new campaigns, story content, or major gameplay features.
