Evaluation

Revenge of the Titans launched on March 16, 2011 and received post-launch patches and feature updates, with the last substantive game update (version 1.80.21, adding Easy Mode, shader effects, and Sandbox Mode enhancements) released on May 29, 2013. Both DLC items — the Sandbox Mode and Soundtrack — are fully released with no unreleased content listed on the store. Since 2013, Puppygames has posted occasional news through this game's Steam page, but these posts are entirely about other games the studio has made or is making (Basingstoke, Glitchangels, Battledroid, Faerie Solitaire Harvest). None of these posts announce new content for Revenge of the Titans itself. The most recent post, from May 29, 2024, promotes a Kickstarter for Battledroid — a separate successor game — and describes it as something the studio "just made" after 14 years, reinforcing that Revenge of the Titans has long been a finished product. The game shipped as a complete experience and has had no content additions in over a decade.

About this game

At first they came from the skies, and we repelled them with hired spaceships on a shoestring budget! Now they’re back, and they’re sending their ground troops to destroy our bases – thirty-ton monsters with glowing eyes and slavering jaws! And we still don’t have any money!
Quickly assemble a defensive position using blaster turrets, upgrades, tiny battledroids, barricades, mines, tangleweb, whilst obtaining the necessary funds by mining nearby resources as the relentless march of the Titans approaches the base. Research new technology and buildings as you defend the Earth bases throughout the solar system from the Titan onslaught. This is the ultimate mash-up of real-time strategy and tower defense.

Key Features:

  • 50 level campaign mode across Earth, Moon, Mars, Saturn and Titan itself
  • 29 buildings and 40 technologies to research
  • Relaxing Endless game mode
  • Hectic Survival game mode with online hiscores
