Evaluation

Revita launched into 1.0 on April 21, 2022, after a successful Early Access period. Following launch, the developer (BenStar) worked extensively on a major free update called "Revita Refocused" (version 2.0), teasing new content throughout 2022 and 2023. On October 4, 2023, the developer posted a frank statement announcing that the Refocused update had been cancelled due to financial constraints — porting, QA, and localization costs made it unviable, even with a paid release. However, just seven weeks later on November 22, 2023, the developer reversed course: fan support prompted renegotiations, and a PC-only release of Refocused was back on the table, targeting the first half of 2024. A final update on January 14, 2024 revised the situation again: Refocused had been deprioritized to a "hobby project" because the studio needed to start a new commercial game to stay financially viable. The developer was candid that Refocused might never release, while also affirming they would continue working on it on the side as passion permits. As of June 25, 2026 — more than two years after that last post — there have been no further communications about Refocused or any other Revita content. The game's only DLC is the soundtrack, which released at launch. The base game shipped as a complete, feature-rich product with a full story, and its post-launch update cycle effectively ended when Refocused was deprioritized in early 2024. No announced content remains outstanding in the store listing, and no developer statement since January 2024 has reaffirmed any specific future plans for the game. The game is complete as it stands.
Evidence
Developer disclosed that Refocused had been downgraded to a side 'hobby project' while the studio pivots to a new commercial game. Explicitly stated that Refocused still might not release, and that no further substantial progress should be expected in the near term. This is the last known communication about the game.

Developer reversed the cancellation: fan support allowed renegotiation, and a PC-only release of Refocused was back on the table, tentatively targeting the first half of 2024. However, the underlying financial issues were described as unresolved.
