Risen

Risen launched on October 2, 2009 as a complete, self-contained RPG with no post-launch content cycle. The game received a modernization patch on January 24, 2023 that added gamepad support, Steam Achievements, language updates, and technical improvements to coincide with its release on modern consoles — but this was a maintenance and compatibility update, not new story or gameplay content. A soundtrack DLC was also released that same day, which is the only DLC in the store listing and is already available for purchase. There is no announced future content, no unreleased DLC, and no roadmap or developer statement indicating further development plans. The 2019 news post was a promotion for a Gothic Remake playable teaser — unrelated to Risen's own content status. Risen shipped as a finished product in 2009 and remains so today.
