Rising Angels: Reborn is a free-to-play visual novel that launched on September 12, 2014 as a complete, standalone story. The developer's only post-launch communication was a Kickstarter announcement on the same day as release, seeking funding for a sequel called Rising Angels: Fates. A prequel, Rising Angels: Hope, was released on March 21, 2016 as a separate standalone game on its own store page — it is not additional content for Reborn itself. There is no DLC, no post-launch updates, and no developer communication indicating that Reborn would ever receive additional content. After the orders that she has always dreamed of finally arrive, she finds herself in charge of a small destroyer and tasked with discovering the fate of a missing research team investigating an ancient civilization. Mystery swirls all around her as she reunites with old friends, meets emotional trials head-on, and faces the danger with new allies.
As the universe she knows falls apart around her, it is up to Natalie’s brilliance and the dedication of the crew of the KSS Nimross to avert a galaxy-shattering event that could spell the end of all space travel.
