Rising Islands launched on August 2, 2016 as a complete adventure game with 13 levels, boss battles, and a time trial mode. Following launch, the developer shipped a series of bug fix and quality-of-life patches through late 2016, then added Tobii eye tracking support on June 7, 2017 as a free feature update. That eye tracking post is the last recorded developer communication. The two DLC items released alongside the game (a soundtrack and an art book) are both available, and no additional content has ever been announced or listed. The developer has made no statements about future updates or expansions since June 2017, and there is no roadmap, season pass, or unreleased DLC to suggest more content is coming. The game appears to have shipped as a self-contained product and received a modest round of post-launch polish before going quiet.

Long ago, Chaos and Discord ruled the land. Only the creation of the Relics by The Ancients brought Peace and Balance. Slowly but surely the world recovered from this era of Strife. But Evil is never truly defeated, and soon chaos will return to the lands and destroy the balance of the world. Only you, a young woman named Hairo, can save it.
