Riverbond launched on June 9, 2019 as a complete voxel dungeon crawler. After launch, Cococucumber shipped one major free content update — Crystalwatch (World 9) on December 10, 2019 — which added a new world, levels, enemies, weapons, a boss, and a Spelunky crossover character. That update also introduced a weapon swapping system and over 60 new skins. Steam Remote Play Together support was added on November 20, 2019, enabling online co-op. No further updates to Riverbond have been released since December 2019. Cococucumber has since moved on to other projects: Echo Generation was announced in July 2020, and a December 2025 studio recap focused entirely on Echo Generation 2, which was revealed at the Xbox Partner Preview showcase. There is no mention of any planned content for Riverbond in any developer communication after December 2019. The studio's attention has clearly shifted, and Riverbond appears to have concluded its update cycle with the Crystalwatch update.
